A Message from the NPA re: Trump's WH Announcement about Autism

Hello NPA,

You may have seen recent media coverage regarding the announcement made earlier this week by President Trump and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on autism, acetaminophen (Tylenol), and potential new treatment approaches. Understandably, this has raised many questions and concerns within our communities and the populations we serve.

While there may be a correlation between acetaminophen (Tylenol) and neurodevelopmental mental health illnesses and symptoms, based on the research and information currently established and documented, this does not mean there is a causal relationship between the two. More information and research is needed, which will take time.

Along with many experts, if you have questions and concerns about this, we encourage you to seek out information from trusted and ethical medical and mental health resources, professionals, and clinicians.
