About the Workshop:

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can be a complex set of symptoms to understand and treat that is characterized by repetitive behaviors brought on by distressing/uncomfortable internal experiences that interfere with functioning. This webinar will cover the basics of OCD and its treatments. Dr. Morrison will bring her 12+ years of clinical and research experience in treating OCD to provide practical clinical concepts and skills. Dr. Morrison will provide an introduction to Exposure and Response Prevention, the gold-standard for treatment for OCD. A brief introduction will be provided to the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for OCD. Participants will practice conceptualization and treatment of OCD through case examples. The webinar will include case examples, interactive practices, and slides. Clinical materials (e.g., handouts, tracking forms) and resources for additional learning will be shared.


Learning Objectives:

At the end of this workshop, attendees will be able to:

  1. Describe and identify characteristics of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  2. List examples of an introductory level of treatment of OCD
  3. Demonstrate an introductory level of treatment for OCD with their clients

Audience:

This presentation is intended for psychologists, other licensed mental health providers, and graduate students of psychology.


About the Speaker:

Kate Morrison, Ph.D. (she/her/Dr.) is a clinical psychologist and owner of Juniper Mental Health, an entirely online independent practice in Utah, where she specializes in the treatment of OCD, anxiety, and related concerns. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada-Reno and her doctorate in clinical/counseling/school psychology from Utah State University. She has been practicing and studying OCD, ACT, and exposure therapies for over 12 years. Dr. Morrison has authored multiple articles and book chapters related to ACT, OCD, exposure therapy, and OC related disorders. In addition to her clinical practice, she has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Contextual Behavioral Science and trains other professionals in her areas of expertise.

Those logging into the Zoom webinar more than 15 minutes late or logging off before the entire workshop is completed will not receive CE credits (i.e. partial CE credit will not be issued).
