Request an Ethics ConsultationNPA Ethics CommitteeObjectiveThe fundamental objectives of the NPA Ethics Committee is to promote ethical conduct by members at the highest professional level, to educate members concerning ethical standards; to contribute to the protection of the public against harmful conduct by all members; and to aid the Association in achieving its objectives as reflected in its Bylaws. The NPA Ethics Committee researches and provides ethical guidance to the Board as needed, and also serves as a consultation resource to NPA psychologists on questions related to the ethics of psychological practice. Dr. Dhaliwal currently serves as president of the Southern Regional Board of the Nevada Psychological Association (NPA) and is also the chair of the Ethics committee for NPA. Dr. Dhaliwal takes an evidence-based and strong multicultural approach to therapy. Identifying as a multiracial immigrant, she has a strong passion and commitment to working with the immigrant population. Dr. Dhaliwal also has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Process Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy. Dr. Dhaliwal believes that exploring interpersonal dynamics as well as understanding the role of emotion is imperative for genuine psychotherapeutic change. James Jobe, PhD, is a licensed psychologist with 15 years of experience as a mental health provider. He earned his Ph.D. from Western Michigan University and completed his clinical internship at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. Jobe has provided individual and group therapy to clients of all ages and backgrounds in private practice, university counseling centers, medical settings, and a VA mental health clinic. Dr. Jobe operates from a cognitive behavioral perspective with attention and sensitivity to each facet of a person’s sociocultural identity which includes (but is not limited to) race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ableness, and socioeconomic status. Tricia Steeves, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and has experience in both private practice and within larger healthcare systems. Dr. Steeves completed a BA in Psychology at UCLA, an MA in Clinical Psychology, co-specializing in Treatment of PTSD and Developmental Psychopathology, at Antioch University, Los Angeles, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at University of Northern Colorado (APA-Accredited) with a minor in Statistics. Her pre-doctoral internship was completed at VA Salt Lake City Healthcare System, and her post-doctoral fellowship was completed at EDCare Denver, where she helped to develop a co-occurring SUD/ED treatment program. While trained in various EBPs, such as ACT, CBT, IPT, CPT, PE, and EMDR, Dr. Steeves' work is grounded in psychodynamic theory.
